K-5 Faith Formation
CTK’s Religious Education is centered on our families. The church calls parents to be the primary catechists to their children. Whenever a child is baptized in the Catholic Church, the parents are reminded that – in asking for the child to be baptized – they are accepting the responsibility of raising their children in the practice of the Faith. The role of the parish is not to replace that duty. We are here to equip parents in their role.
GOD’S PLAN IN SCRIPTURE FAMILY PROGRAM — K-5TH GRADE
Our family program provides resources to groups of parents, so they can come together and share their experience of how to live the Faith at home. The program provides family-friendly, age-appropriate activities and discussions. Regularly attending these sessions for parents and families will assist you to learn, teach and live our Faith together, and do it more fully. These teachings are a way of life, not just a class to attend.
In this year’s family program, God’s Plan in Scripture (GPS), we will journey through the Bible, focusing on stories from Creation to Desert Wanderings, learning salvation history (the “big story” found in the Bible) and understanding our place within it. CTK strongly encourages families with children (K-5) to register and regularly attend the meetings.
- If your child is receiving a sacrament, your family MUST be enrolled in and regularly attend the God’s Plan in Scripture meetings.
- Registration in God’s Plan in Scripture includes Pathfinders for 4th and 5th graders

PATHFINDERS — 4TH – 5TH GRADE
Pathfinders Builds onto and complements the lessons and themes of God’s Plan in Scripture. The program offers 4th and 5th graders the opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of their Catholic faith, while spending time and fellowship with their peers. Classes meet on Wednesday afternoons. CTK strongly encourages Pathfinder students to participate in the Family Program. Registration in A Family of Faith includes Pathfinder registration.
