Christ the King commits to ensuring the safety of every child or young person in our care. Every staff member and volunteer in contact with a child or young person must undergo a background check. They must also attend Safe Environment training courses. Additionally, we provide yearly age-appropriate classes for youth and their families so that everyone knows how to identify predatory behavior. We designed the new parish center with the American Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People firmly in mind.
All reports of sexual abuse are taken seriously. Therefore, it’s important to substantiate any complaint before reporting. To report incidents of sexual abuse:
- Report all incidents of sexual abuse to civil authorities immediately.
- Contact the Director of the Office of Child & Youth Protection at 303-715-3226 to report an incident of sexual abuse involving a minor to the archdiocese.
- Direct allegations of sexual misconduct against a priest, deacon or seminarian to the Vicar for Clergy at 303-715-3197.
- Direct allegations of sexual misconduct involving adult lay staff to the Director of Human Resources at 303-715-3193.
